Team Agnirath
Solar car racing sensation of IIT Madras
We're a team of 34 enthusiastic undergraduate students united by our passion for solar car racing. Our team is a mix of talents from various engineering backgrounds, all driven by a common goal.
At Agnirath, innovation runs through our veins, we thrive on the challenge of designing and building state-of-the-art solar-powered vehicles that defy expectations. Whether it's mechanical engineering , electrical systems or business management, our diverse expertise comes together seamlessly to create something extraordinary.
Our Journey
Our journey began with humble origins. Inspired by the YouTube documentary “Lightspeed,” six core members laid the foundation for what would become Team Agnirath. In 2023, we made history as the only Indian team to participate in the prestigious Bridgestone World Solar Challenge with our first car, Aarush.
Fast forward to 2025 we learned from our challenges and, with Aagneya, our flagship car, became the first Indian team in over a decade to race on Australian soil. Now, our sights are set on the grand stage of the Sasol Solar Challenge 2026, where we aim to showcase our prowess once again.
